A Huntington-connected couple has brought a new drive-thru coffee option to downtown Huntington, opening Ziggi’s Coffee, 201 S. Jefferson Street on Tuesday with a focus on serving customers on the move. A Huntington County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting is scheduled for a later date.
The shop offers a wide range of beverages, including espresso drinks and other caffeinated options, along with chai, dirty soda, matcha, energy drinks, smoothies and more for those who prefer alternatives to coffee.
Founded in 2004, Ziggi’s Coffee has grown from a small local concept into a nationwide franchise. Huntington franchisee Hamilton Barnes said he has known Ziggi’s founders Brandon and Camrin Knudsen since their college basketball days. Today, the brand has expanded to more than 120 locations in 23 states, with over 200 additional locations in development.
“Ziggi’s has always been close to my heart,” Barnes said. “When the opportunity came to partner with the brand and bring it to our town, it was a no-brainer.”
Barnes is opening the Huntington location with his wife, Laura Barnes. The couple also plans to collaborate regularly with local schools and community organizations.
“We love brightening people’s day,” Laura Barnes said. “Ziggi’s gives us the chance to be a bright spot in the community.”
