Talk to a Lawyer Day is scheduled for January 17

The Huntington County Bar Association will host “Talk to a Lawyer Day” on Monday, January 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is a virtual program and consultation will be either by telephone or video conference.

Individuals will speak with one of the attorneys volunteering their time and expertise during the 15-to-20-minute free legal consultation. To get the most out of the free legal consultation, it is recommended that individuals have their questions prepared and ready prior to the phone consultation.

Many legal issues are complicated, but the attorney will do their best to point callers in the right direction and offer suggestions for any next steps. This is a consultation only, meaning it is more than likely that an individual’s issue will not get completely resolved. Callers are asked to know that attorneys cannot file forms on their behalf. This program is a consultation only and does not establish an ongoing relationship with the attorney volunteer.

In order to schedule a consultation, interested parties are asked to contact Sara at the Huntington County Circuit Court at (260) 358-4814. Callers must provide the court with the following:

• Individuals’ name and phone number.
• Available times for January 17.
• The type of case or legal question involved.

The deadline for scheduling is Friday, January 14 at 11 a.m.
