The Huntington Arts and Entrepreneurial Center (HAEC) is excited to host artist Emily Guerrero of Mexica-Arts for her Create and Celebrate with Flowers workshop. The workshop will be held at the HAEC, 32 E. Franklin Street, from April 7 to May 4 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

Guerrero will be leading workshops at HAEC through the Lifelong Learning program with Indiana Arts Commission (IAC). The program is sponsored by the LaFontaine Arts Council and sponsored, funded and supported by Arts United, IAC and the National Endowment for the Arts + Women of the World.

“This will be a gathering of community elders to join in flower storytelling around the activity of creating paper flowers,” Guerrero shared.

The Create and Celebrate with Flowers workshop is geared towards an audience 65 and older and will explore paper flower making, cultural practices and the similarities between cultures with flower themes. Workshops will be held every Thursday morning in April, with a completion celebration in May.
