The Community Book Swap is a free event that is open to everyone in the county that would like to bring their books in and swap them for others. Those interested in participating can bring in a book, five books or more and swap them out for more.

The book swap is open to the public every month of the year on the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Huntington Church of the Brethren, 306 E. Washington Street, Huntington. Books range from adult, children, religious and puzzles. Magazines and puzzles can also be swapped out as well.

The Community Book Swap was created in October of 2014, by Alicia Bowers. Bowers wanted a place where the community can swap their books for free and help those who live in the county who cannot afford a library card. When Bowers started the Community Book Swap she would stack books on tables, and now her church has given her a small room that she has transformed into a library. The shelves have all genres of books and are for all ages.

More information and updates about the book swap can be found on their Community Book Swap page on Facebook here.
