Community members and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to enjoy one of Huntington County’s most anticipated summer traditions as Splash on the Wabash 2026 returns on Saturday, July 18, at the Historic Forks of the Wabash.

The annual event features a relaxing 90-minute lazy river-style tube float along the scenic Wabash River, offering participants a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of northeast Indiana waterways while supporting local community initiatives.

Participants may choose from three launch times throughout the day, including 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m. The event begins at the Historic Forks of the Wabash, located at 3011 W. Park Drive in Huntington.

Registration options include tube and life jacket rental for $17 per participant or a $10 bring-your-own-tube option, which includes shuttle transportation from the Forks to the river launch site.

For safety purposes, participants must be at least eight years old to participate.

Splash on the Wabash has become a popular summertime fundraiser that regularly attracts participants from across the region and often sells out in advance. Proceeds traditionally benefit local organizations and historic preservation efforts, including support for area Boy Scouts and the Historic Forks of the Wabash.

Organizers encourage participants to reserve their spot early and secure rental equipment ahead of the event.
