Make plans now to join the Parkview Huntington Family YMCA in celebrating America’s 250th on Saturday, July 4. The YMCA parking lot will once again be a prime viewing spot for the City of Huntington fireworks by American Legion Post 85 and its volunteers.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., there will be food for purchase from food trucks and vendors including JB’s Cuisine Machine, Kona Ice, Travelin’ Toms Coffee, Beverly Anns Cookie Truck, Epic Eats, Wise Guys Downtown, Tacos Rancheros and food booths of Sugar Creek Donuts, Gracefully Gourmet, American Legion Auxiliary Post 85 and YMCA food stand.

Entertainment on the YMCA patio stage begins at 5:30 p.m. with Break Your Fall band, followed by a tribute to veterans and a patriotic music mix performed by Huntington Theater Guild, Act II. The Rock of Elders band sponsored by Huntington Summers Plumbing, Heating and Cooling will play from 7:45 p.m. until the National Anthem begins at 9:30 p.m. with the start of the fireworks show shortly thereafter. Music will be broadcast through several speakers near the YMCA and Crestview Middle School seating areas during the fireworks show for a pyromusical experience. Financial support of the fireworks can still be directed to the American Legion Post 85 via the links on their Facebook page.

The YMCA facility will be closed on July 4. There will be porta johns located within the parking lot, provided by the City of Huntington. Picnic table seating will be available near the YMCA as well. Please follow the City of Huntington guidelines for traffic flow before and after the fireworks. Rain date is Sunday, July 5.
