Historical Society to unveil limited-edition coin

The Huntington County Historical Society is proud to commemorate its 100th Anniversary with the release of a limited-edition commemorative coin honoring a century of preserving, protecting and sharing the rich history of Huntington County.

This beautifully crafted 2-inch collectible coin celebrates the people, places and events that have shaped the county’s legacy over the past 100 years. The design features iconic local landmarks, including the historic Chief Richardville House and the Huntington County Courthouse, along with tributes to the pioneers, innovators and community leaders whose contributions continue to influence Huntington County today.

Only 500 coins have been produced, making this a unique and highly collectible keepsake. Each coin is individually numbered and serves as a lasting tribute to the county’s heritage and the Historical Society’s century-long commitment to preservation.

“Reaching our 100th anniversary is an extraordinary milestone,” said representatives of the Huntington County Historical Society. “This commemorative coin offers residents, collectors and history enthusiasts the opportunity to own a meaningful piece of Huntington County history while supporting the preservation efforts that ensure our stories continue to be shared for generations to come.”

Proceeds from coin sales will directly benefit the Historical Society’s ongoing mission to preserve local history, protect historic resources, and provide educational opportunities that connect the community to its past.

The commemorative coins are available for:

• $25 for Historical Society members
• $35 for non-members

Individuals who are not currently members are encouraged to consider joining the Huntington County Historical Society and becoming part of its continuing preservation efforts.

To ensure broad availability, purchases will be limited to five (5) coins per person. No additional coins will be minted once the limited production run of 500 coins has been sold. Coins will be available for pickup during the Historical Society’s Constitution Day closing program on September 17, 2026.
