Harbor Freight is scheduled to open in the former Dorothy’s Hallmark store next month. The newly remodeled 20,000 square foot store is located at 2028 N. Jefferson Street in the Huntington Plaza shopping center.

According to the general contractors, Lakeview Construction, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, “The new store has been completely remodeled from floor to ceiling.”

“We completely removed the entire cement flooring and reinstalled all new concrete. The owner of Harbor Freight has more than $200,000 just in the flooring,” the general contractor stated.

He went on to say, “All together the owner has invested north of $800,000 in the project, and is proud of the work that has been done.”

The store is expected to bring between 25 and 30 new jobs to the community, including sales and logistics supervisors, senior associates, sales associates and seasonal opportunities.

The company opened its first store in 1980. Today, Harbor Freight Tools has more than 1,200 stores across the country and employs 24,000 associates. It has become one of the nation’s fastest growing retailers, opening two new stores every week.
