The Huntington Arts & Entrepreneurial Center is excited to offer four unique workshops this June. All workshops in June are open-ended registration and admission. This means you can join anytime.

KEEP CALM AND CRAFT: The first class will be Tuesday, June 20 through July 25 at 6 p.m. (six weeks). Ages: 16 and up. This class is designed to help ease the symptoms of anxiety, ADHD and depression. The time will be spent creating soothing works to calm the brain. Line drawing has been proven to increase awareness and focus, mood regulation and stress reduction. The class lasts for 1.5 hours. The cost of the class is $20 for six weeks. Each week will be a different project that can be taken home.

WRITE, RELEASE, REVIVE: The first class will be held on June 21 and run through September 22 at 6 p.m. (ten weeks). Ages: Adults 18 and older. This class is based on The Artist’s Journey by Julia Cameron. This is a 10-week class. This class aims to help rediscover a person’s truth through creativity. When we open ourselves to our creativity, we open ourselves to the creator’s creative wisdom within us and our lives.

We will build on the skills we have learned each week and dive deeper into the process. There is no pressure and no wrong way to do something. As a collective, we will each give one another the space to express and grow. All materials will be provided, and yours to keep. The class cost is $25.

REBEL POETS’ SOCIETY: The first class will be on Thursday, June 22 and run through August 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. (eight weeks). Ages: 16 and up.

Heed the call, poets; alas, a place has opened where we can gather, write, talk, and savor our favorite things! WORDS! We will spend the next eight weeks drafting a personal book of poetry that we will design and publish for you to keep. Poets will write the content and design the pages for a softback book. The cost of the class is $25

JUST SAY YES! The first class will be held on Friday, June 23 and run through August 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. (ten weeks). Ages: Adults 18 and older. Friday night improv class from 6 to 8 p.m.

This class is for anyone interested in the art of Improvisation. Improv is about saying yes and relearning the art of play. It is an excellent tool for people who are shy or have trouble speaking in front of others. Improv can increase creativity, enhance well-being, and give you vital skills to handle uncertainty. This class is designed for anyone and everyone. You do not have to be an actor or comedian. This class is for people who want to be better human beings, as Improv naturally creates a space of trust and acceptance. The class costs $10 and is open to adults 18 and older.

HAEC’s workshops enrich our community by providing a space to invest in yourself and develop your artistry. Stay up to date and follow Huntington Arts and Entrepreneurial Center on Facebook and Instagram.
