I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Superintendent Chuck Brimbury, Huntington North High School Principal Russ Degitz, Learning Center Principal Tiffanney Drummond and the Huntington County Community Schools for the honor of serving as “Principal for the Day” at Huntington North High School on Thursday, October 15.

After spending time at Huntington North High School and the Learning Center, I came away with a renewed appreciation for the quality of education our students are receiving. If you have ever wondered whether your children and grandchildren are receiving a strong education within our school corporation, I can confidently reassure you that they are. Our students are benefiting from an outstanding educational experience that prepares them for future success.

During my visit, we toured classrooms, the planetarium, science labs, athletic facilities, and many other areas that showcase the opportunities available to our students.

Everywhere we went, I saw dedicated teachers who were enthusiastic about teaching and committed to helping students learn and grow. Huntington North and the Learning Center offers an impressive variety of programs, resources and educational opportunities that help students develop the knowledge and skills they need to succeed beyond high school.

Equally impressive was the attitude of the students. I was greeted with friendly “hellos” throughout the buildings, and the students we encountered were consistently polite, respectful and welcoming. These interactions reflected positively on the school and the values being encouraged within the buildings.

Most importantly, my time at Huntington North and the Learning Center gave me confidence that our students are in good hands. It was clear that the administrators, teachers and staff take their responsibilities seriously and are genuinely invested in the success of the young people entrusted to their care. The dedication I witnessed, combined with the educational opportunities available, reinforced my belief that our school corporation is working hard to provide students with the education and support they deserve.

I am truly grateful to Superintendent Brimbury, Principal Degitz, Principal Drummond, and the Huntington County Community Schools for welcoming me into their buildings and allowing me to experience firsthand the outstanding work being done every day. Thank you for this meaningful opportunity and for your continued commitment to educating and preparing the next generation of leaders in our community.
