PHH hosting January 11 Check-Up Day event

Parkview Huntington Hospital (PHH) and the Parkview Center for Healthy Living will help area residents get their year off to a healthier start with an early Check-Up Day planned for Wednesday, January 11, from 7 to 9:30 a.m.

Check-Up Day makes it convenient to obtain common lab tests at a reduced cost. The event will take place in PHH’s Wellness Classrooms. To access the classrooms, guests should use the main hospital entrance, turn right at the information desk, pass the entrance to the Holly D. Sale Rehab and Wellness Center and enter the first door in the hallway connecting the hospital to the Medical Office Building.

Two new add-on tests for 2023

Wellness packages remain the same in 2023. Participants may choose between the Green Package and the deluxe Diamond Package. New for the year, however, are two extra tests that can be added to either package – iron ($15) and vitamin B12 ($25) – as well as vitamin D ($40).

Three single tests are available, and fasting is not required for them: glycohemoglobin A1C ($30); thyroid stimulating hormone, known as TSH ($35), and prostate-specific antigen, or PSA ($35).

Wellness packages 

The Green Package includes a lipid profile and glycohemoglobin A1C for $50. In addition, participants can opt to add any of these tests onto the Green Package: comprehensive metabolic profile (CMP), $25; complete blood count (CBC), $15; TSH, $30; and PSA (for men), $30.

The Diamond Package consists of the basic Green Package PLUS the CMP, CBC, TSH and PSA for a total cost of $115. Those who wish to purchase a Diamond Package without the PSA may do so for $100.

Anyone selecting a wellness package must fast for 10 to 12 hours before their appointment. During fasting, sips of water and regular medications as prescribed are OK.

Pre-registration is required

The Parkview Center for Healthy Living will provide the lab testing and pre-registration services. Payment must be made in advance by credit card only.

The January 11 event is the first of several Check-Up Days the hospital will host in 2023. The other dates are:

• Saturday, May 6, 7 to 9:30 a.m.
• Wednesday, May 17, 7 to 9:30 a.m.
• Wednesday, September 13, 7 to 9:30 a.m.
• Wednesday, September 27, 7 to 9:30 a.m.

Due to the high spread of respiratory viruses right now, masks are recommended when visiting the hospital, in accordance with Parkview policy.
