The Youth Services Bureau of Huntington County (YSB) is now accepting applications for the Steven L. Bailey Award. For the past 26 years, this distinguished award has recognized individuals or groups who demonstrate exceptional compassion and dedication to supporting youth and families in Huntington County.

Steven L. Bailey’s legacy continues through this annual honor, which celebrates those who have made a meaningful and lasting impact. Recipients exemplify a commitment to empowering young people, strengthening families and helping create a brighter future through their service and leadership.

Previous recipients include: 1999 – Steven (in honor of); 2000 – Deloris Evans; 2001 – Kent Yost; 2002 – Mel Hunnicutt; 2003 – Roger Vezeau; 2004 – Sara Landrum; 2005 – Kent Hoopingarner; 2006 – Richard Burns; 2007 – Shelly and Jon Schenkel; 2008 – Gary Mast; 2009 – Gloria Wall; 2010 – Carrie Boxell; 2011 – Champion League Volunteers; 2012 – Lisa McDonald; 2013 – George Richison; 2014 – Steve Schenkel; 2015 – Mary Jane Klenoski; 2016 – Blessings in a Backpack; 2017 – Jamie Groves; 2018 – no award given; 2019 – Carla MacDonald and Pastor Steven McPeek; 2020 – Ronald Hochstetler; 2021 – Meg Friesen; 2022 – Jon Kramer; 2023 – Janet Clark; 2024 – Terry Stoffel and 2025 – Tim Allen.

This year’s award will be presented at YSB’s annual spring dinner, “A Night for Impact & Empowerment,” on Saturday, May 9 at the Historic Forks of the Wabash. Tickets and additional event details are available at ysbofhuntingtonco.com.
