Each year on Father’s Day weekend, the Izaak Walton Huntington chapter hosts a Teddy Bear Hunt to celebrate the local community. Kids can purchase a $5 hunting license to join Smokey the Bear and local firefighters on a search for teddy bears through the chapter trails.

The “hunters” will fill out a hunting license with a DNR officer, and learn about population control as a part of conservation efforts. Each hunter will get to name and adopt a teddy bear to a good home. A meal is included with each hunting license.

Other activities include bear-themed coloring pages, face painting, temporary tattoos, bounce houses, a bear crawl competition, using fire extinguishers with firefighters, an obstacle course and more.
