Firemen are proof that true heroism doesn’t wear a cape – it wears turnout gear, carries a hose and answers the alarm without hesitation. As the community celebrates Firemen Appreciation, we honor their bravery, service and enduring promise to protect us all.

This week the Huntington community came together to show its appreciation for the firemen who serve and protect our county. The outpouring of support was nothing short of inspiring.

A total of 22 businesses and individuals did not hesitate to sponsor a table for the event, ensuring that our local heroes were celebrated in style. In addition another 22 local businesses generously contributed donations and gifts for door prizes with a combined value of over $1,100.

This tremendous response highlights what makes Huntington County truly special – a community that values service, generosity and gratitude. The firemen may be the ones who answer the call in moments of crisis, but this week, it was the community’s turn to answer the call of appreciation.

From small businesses to individuals, every contribution reflected a shared message: thank you to the men and women who risk their lives to protect ours.

To say this community is blessed is an understatement. Huntington County stands proud and thankful for its firefighters – the brave souls who embody courage, compassion and commitment every single day.
