Huntington County kids will have outdoor space to learn from if this crowdfunding campaign reaches its goal of raising $30,000 by April 8, 2024. If successful, the project that is fiscally sponsored by the Community Foundation of Huntington County will receive a matching grant as part of the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s (IHCDA) CreatINg Places program.

Funds from this campaign will be used to construct an outdoor classroom on Flint Springs Elementary School grounds where classrooms can host activities.

“We are so excited and thankful for this opportunity to provide an additional area on our campus for students to learn, collaborate and even escape the heat on the playground,” said BreAnne Dyer, principal of Flint Springs Elementary. “This is an investment that will be utilized daily and will be a great space for our Flint Springs families and our entire community.”

If the crowdfunding campaign reaches its $30,000 goal, IHCDA will match those contributions one-to-one. Those interested in making a financial contribution to the campaign can go to patronicity.com/flintsprings for more details and to make a contribution. Checks and cash contributions can be dropped off or sent to: Community Foundation of Huntington County, P.O. Box 5037, Huntington, IN 46740. Place in memo line: Flint Springs Project.
