Several people attended the first annual Holiday After Hours at the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The After Hours was hosted by the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce. Those attending were treated to refreshments from Sodexo at Huntington University, toured the facility to include the Forester Festival of Trees and enjoyed live music presented by students from the music classes at the Parkview Huntington Family YMCA.

The Huntington County Chamber of Commerce held its first annual Holiday After Hours yesterday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Huntington University. The event was attended by many people in the Merillat Centre for the Arts creatively decorated with Christmas trees.
Those attending were served fresh cookies, lemonade and coffee provided by Sodexo at Huntington University. The Chamber friends that attended enjoyed live music provided by some young musicians from the Parkview Huntington Family YMCA, and were delighted by the 24 beautifully decorated Christmas trees part of the annual Forester Festival of Trees. Visits to Huntington University’s Welcome Center, the Wilson Art Gallery and the beautiful Zurcher Auditorium, all decorated for Christmas, were also a part of the evening.
Drawings were held for door prizes from area businesses. Those participating in the drawings who were in attendance were given their prizes. Those not in attendance will be contacted by the Chamber.
The Chamber would like to thank Steve Pozezanac, director of the Merillat Centre for the Arts, for the use of the facility, and April Slick, general manager of Sodexo at Huntington University for the delicious cookies and other refreshments. Appreciation for the beautifully decorated Christmas trees goes to Kelsey Herber and Dave Schroeder of the Huntington University Volleyball Team, and to all the businesses that sponsored a Christmas tree. A special thank you to Christy Knecht for her help in providing the live music from the music students at the Parkview Huntington Family YMCA, and to all that attended the gathering. The kindness and generosity of all who made the event possible is what made the gathering so special.
The four winners of the Chamber drawings were Todd Latta, gift card from Cholula Mexican Grill & Cafe; Chuck Brimbury, gift certificate from The Elevated Collective; Eric Meyer, gift certificate from Moe’s Restaurant and Samantha Garcia, a gift certificate from the Brick House Grill.
The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all of you for helping us ‘ring in the holidays,’ and we wish you all a wonderful holiday season.
