Carole Holmes Gordon

The work of local artist, Carole Holmes Gordon, will be presented from September 30 through November 26, 2022. The Arts Included Gallery at the Huntington Arts & Entrepreneurial Center (HAEC) is open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Weekend hours are Saturday from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Gordon is a studio artist who specializes in fabric-based mixed media collage. Her work incorporates various textiles. Fibers, paper, paint, printing and embellishments are materials used in her creations. Gordon enjoys the freedom to explore techniques and keep her work unique.

“The dynamic interactions of color, form and movement allow me to create mindscapes of intuitive, spiritual and visionary realms. I like my work to delight the eye and symbolize life journeys,” Gordon shared.

In Gordon’s early life, she found herself surrounded by exceptionally talented women. These women would share their skills in sewing and fabric work with her. Gordon later graduated from Indiana University. She majored in both French and Art while also achieving a minor in Psychology. She continues to learn and grow as an artist by attending various classes and symposiums.

An artist reception is scheduled for September 30 at the Arts Included Gallery from 6 to 8 p.m. Light refreshments are complimentary during the meet and greet event. People of all ages, abilities and backgrounds are welcome to attend. Join them at HAEC, located at 32 E. Franklin Street, Huntington, as they showcase the works of Carole Holmes Gordon.
