Bowen Center representatives met with the Huntington County Commissioner’s recently to review the past year’s accomplishments and shared vision to provide expanded services to Huntington County residents.

The Center works in partnership with the County Commissioners to provide accessible mental health care, primary health care, addiction recovery services and behavior modification coaching to at risk individuals in the county.

“You may be completely unaware, but our team of mental health professionals are out working with patients in the schools, at the grocery store, in the library, at the YMCA, in homes, and places all over the county,” said Shelly Snyder, Bowen Center Huntington director. “We also work closely with the county to provide intensive addiction recovery treatment and relapse prevention services and we look forward to working with Community Corrections in their work release program to help participants successfully re-integrate into society. We have seen significant growth in our services, and I think that’s due in part to the proactive approach our County Commissioners have taken to aid that vulnerable population,” said Ms. Snyder.

Bowen Center recently added a primary care clinic and pharmacy to its outpatient office to provide easier access to care under one roof. “Our patients are often unable to access the kind of healthcare they need until it gets to an emergency situation,” said Dr. Rob Ryan, Bowen Center president/CEO. “Our efforts in concert with the Huntington County Commissioners to help make all healthcare accessible and affordable make this community stronger and a great place to live. We were pleased to hear the excitement from the Commissioners when we talked about our recent purchase of land along State Road 24 which will be used to expand our current offerings to Huntington County and we are thankful for the Commissioners’ hard work and focused attention on expanding mental health care and substance use services for the residents of Huntington County,” said Dr. Ryan.
