Pathfinder Services is searching for an individual or organization in the Huntington community to be honored for making an extra effort to support people with disabilities. Nominations for this year’s award are due Monday, April 3, 2023.

The award is given in memory of Herbert D. LaMont, a significant force in the advocacy and development of services for people with disabilities in Huntington County. He was also an early supporter of Pathfinder Services.

Criteria used to select recipients: The nominee has significantly contributed to creating opportunities for persons with disabilities to reach their maximum potential through communicating, working and living as an integrated part of the Huntington County community.

The nominee seeks by example to communicate and educate the Huntington County community about the capabilities of persons with disabilities to become part of mainstream society.

There must be concrete examples of the nominee’s activities to document the impact made. The candidate must be active in the Huntington County community. No current Pathfinder Services, Inc. staff member is eligible for the award.

Letters of nomination are due Monday, April 3, 2023, to the LaMont Award Committee in care of Sheryl Cline, executive assistant to the president at Pathfinder Services, Inc., 2824 Theater Avenue, Huntington, Indiana, 46750, or by email to scline@pathfinderservices.org.

The recipient will be announced at the Pathfinder Services Annual Celebration on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the PAL Club.
