Its tails. It’s trails. It’s the Huntington Tails & Trails Festival, where there is something for everyone, including man’s best friend. The event will feature a 5K and 3K Dog Walk. Powers of One Yoga will be providing free race yoga. The event will be held at Evergreen Park on Saturday, August 6.

If running isn’t your thing, then join them for several festival activities after the race. There will be live music (featuring Joe Donnell Music and the Varsity Brass), Food Trucks, Market Shops, Dog Group Demonstrations (Sheriff K9, Dog Agility by Heaven Scent K9 and Therapy Dogs), along with a dog rally course (free to participate). Those who sign up for the race before July 25 are guaranteed a race shirt. There is something for everyone so dust off those running shoes and lawn chairs and go out and join them.

The event is hosted by HARTA and the Huntington County Humane Society. Proceeds and contributions from the event will go toward supporting the upcoming Erie trail expansion, trail amenities, trail signage, lifesaving medical care, spays and neuters for the shelter animals.

Food trucks and market vendors are needed and may sign up on the race website for a nominal fee of $30. The group is seeking sponsors for the event so they can reach their goal of $10,000. If interested, contact Kelly Frank at (260) 355-5103.
