Under a bright late fall sun and cool temperatures, Santa and Mrs. Claus made their way into Huntington County. After a short parade from St. Mary's Church to the Huntington County Court House, the honored couple made their way the the Visitor's Center at the corner of Jefferson and Market Streets. Once in their Huntington Headquarters, they talked with children hearing their Christmas wish list. Children were also able to have their pictures taken with the Clauses.
Joining Santa and Mrs. Claus was the Santa Quartet. They played Christmas music during the parade. Later the Quartet was outside of Santa's Headquarters and continued to serenade the crowds, Lines stretched up Jefferson Street to talk with Santa. The other line was to take a ride on the Christmas train around the downtown area.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller brought their mini train to Huntington. For only a couple of bucks, parents, grand-parents and children were able to ride up Jefferson Street to Park Drive then back down to the corner of Jefferson and Washington Streets.
At 1:00 in the afternoon, Mr. Joel Froomkin of the the New Huntington Theater held a capacity crowd in awe has he gave a dramatic reading of Charles Dicken's, "A Christmas Carole" in the lobby of the Huntington Theater at 550 North Jefferson.
To help make the morning more comfortable, Pastor John Willis and members of the Christian Life Tabernacle passed out free cups of hot chocolate to those downtown.
