MC, Rose Wall, Chamber Chair

On a beatuiful spring morning, 60 members gathered to learn more about other Chamber members. Chair Rose Wall, Wehr into Flowers guided the networking event that permited Chamber Members to learn more about other area firms. She started out with Jeff Teusch, Assistant Director of the Community Connections / Division of Pathfinder Services followed by Joe Raloczy from Parkview Huntington Hopital and representing the Huntington County Safety Council then closed with Dave Shriner of Uniforms & More.

Pathfiner Services has been in Huntington for over 40 years. The Community Connections Division helps Huntingtonians purchase their new homes. They are a full service operation that provides counseling both before and after the home purchase.

This unique program permits lower income families to purchase homes in the Pathfimders Service Area. Community Connections partners with local financial Insitutions, builders,developers, and the USDA to leverage financing. Once the home has been purchased the family is not forgotten. Community Connections continues to counsel and provide support to help own the home.

The Huntington County Safety Council meets the second Wednesday of the month at Habecker Dining Commons. They provide a forum to discuss the many topics that deal with commercial safety. OSHA, IDEM, and a whole variety of alphabet soup names are common. Also common at their meetings is a very low cost oppportunity to stay current with the issues that could impact your business. Attendees  include safety specialists from area businesses, plant management, and human resource experts but just about anyone is welcome. The meals are $9.00 which includes the presentations. Dave and Amy Shriner opened thier first store on the Huntington Mall in 2005 at 514 North Jefferson Street, Huntington. Originally handling uniforms for the medical profession they have expanded. January of 2007, Uniforms & More opened thier Fort Wayne operation.

Today, professional uniforms for public safety, police, fire, sherrif's oficers, medical personnel are available locally. They not only handle unifroms but as the name says much more. The accessories for the job are available in addition to footware. If you don't see what you are looking for just ask.  With the large line of supplies availablre from their vendors, just about every clothing need can be met including custom embroidering..
